villavillekula

Our very own Villa Villekulla, only one street away.

Things have been okay for the last few weeks. Cousin Shaunaid and her lovely little boy Lucian came to visit for a week from England. Johan and I took two days off to relax with them, and relax we did! Lots of swimming, cooking, drinking and wandering with the two of them and Gabrielle, who drove up from San Diego. Lucian, who is 3 1/2 years old is wonderful, a precocious and really intelligent little boy. The only downer in the whole two days was when Johan and I went to pick up his ulcer medicine and the cost was a whopping $285. I think I have an ulcer now too!

I feel pretty happy that we got some relaxing in, as I’ve been working non-stop since then, clocking 52 hours alone this week! Of course we need the money since we will be retiring the ‘green danger’ pretty soon and buying a new car. We very nearly bought one three weeks ago, but luckily my dad stopped us in time. A smart thing too, since we would have strapped ourselves with a large monthly payment. Both Johan and I feel better about taking things slower now, and we might not even end up with the car we originally planned to buy. At this point though, give me working air conditioning and I will be happy!

On my one day off last week, Kristiane came over while Johan went off to Midnight Ridazz. We had a girls night in with ‘Rear Window’, champagne, and goat cheese. It was so nice to relax and gossip and have drinks that we decided to do it again this week with Azita. Its going to be cheesy movies this time though. (’Weekend at Bernie’s 2′?!!)

I’m trying to make the most  of my precious little time these days. I feel further tormented by the fact that the rest of my family is lazing away on the beaches of Oahu while Johan and I toil away at our jobs. If all goes well though, a few samll trips, and maybe one big one, are in order for the rest of this year. I can dream on!

Edit. Kristiane says we will not be watching ‘Weekend At Bernie’s 2′, we will instead be participating in an intellectual discourse on the gender distinctions of techno-aesthetics (otherwise known as watching ‘Hackers’).
