For a few reasons this Valentine’s Day (visitor, outrageous tax payment due in April), Johan and I didn’t take our normal route of a night at the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills. Instead, and since, Richard is here from Sweden by way of Mexico and Guatamala, we took a lazy morning and an afternoon at the Getty. But before all that Johan surprised me with the incredibly huge bouquet of flowers pictured above. It filled both of my flower vases with extra to spare! He was also kind enough to pick up the dvd of Marie Antionette.

After a quick breakfast at Chuck’s, we made it up to the Getty a few hours before sunset, and it was a really gorgeous day. Richard was surprised at how Mediterranean the center felt. We had a drink on the terrace and enjoyed the view and brisk weather, followed by a look at the Icons exhibit. We did manage to keep our yearly tradition of dinner at Real Food Daily, which was nice but a little bit crowded and hectic. Food was great though! It was a perfect day.
