I can’t believe how this month has already flown by! My wonderful mom came to see us at the very start of December. It was fantastic, great to see her, and have a piece of California in New York. Its funny how the things that would have mortified me in my teens, only endear me to my mom now. Like the fact that she talks to everyone we meet, an unusual thing for new yorkers, but it was so refreshing for me. And we barely did any shopping, it was just living, and cooking, and walking and seeing things. And thats the truly valuable thing I’m taking from my mom’s visit. I can’t wait for another visit (or a trip home, whichever comes first). Until then, I’m chugging away in New York, and I really love it. Even with my crazy pre-Christmas retail schedule. There’s still been music and time with friends, and good food. Nothing to complain about here.

This is my life until Christmas:

Fresh has broken my spirit and made me some sort of gift wrapping robot. Hurrah for double sided tape! Also, Anna Wintour shopped at my store today. Guess who was on their lunch break? So sad…

My sister arrives tomorrow and I can’t wait. We have a little Swedish Christmas planned, and it sounds perfect.
